The&#13;
workshop served as a forum to share experiences and information on strategies used to enhance&#13;
on-farm productivity in West Africa. Presentations were made by a wide array of&#13;
representatives: national and international research institutes, research networks,&#13;
nongovernmental organizations, and the private sector.&#13;
A synthesis of panel discussions is presented on participatory on-farm approaches to&#13;
increase agricultural production and adoption of improved technologies; sustainable on-farm&#13;
seed production; sorghum and millet processing; and socioeconomic aspects. An overview of&#13;
