"Fusarium wilt is one of the most destructive biotic stresses of\r\npigeonpea [Cajanus cajan (L.) Millsp.] and the annual\r\nproduction losses approach over US $71 million. Availability\r\nof high yielding wilt resistant cultivars with wide adaptation\r\nis the ideal solution to overcome this production constraint\r\non a sustainable basis. To achieve this, a clear understanding\r\nof the genetic control of disease resistance helps in\r\nformulating appropriate breeding strategies. Hence, the\r\npresent study was undertaken to determine the mode of\r\ninheritance of FW using mapping populations, including\r\ntwo sets of Recombinant Inbred Lines (RILs). The phenol\r\ntyping data revealed that the resistance to FW was controlled\r\nby mongenic dominant and recessive gene actions in the two\r\nRILs.
