bibo:abstract "Tropical Legumes III (a project supported by Bill & Melinda Gates\r\nFoundation, led by ICRISAT and jointly implemented by CIAT,\r\nIITA and NARS partners) has developed several technologies,\r\nincluding best bet varieties (>163) and other pool of resources\r\nover 3 phases (2007-2016) of its implementation. However, itfaces\r\nthe challenge of reaching the intended target populationat\r\nscale, putting our mission of availing International Public Goods\r\n(IPG’s) in jeopardy.ICRISAT being majorly funded by public money\r\nis a firm supporter of global open access and considers technologies,\r\nresearch results and data generated from different projects\r\nas IPGs to be shared with the global scientific community\r\nusing different open source platforms and tools.\r\nSocial media revolution has potential to address some of these\r\nchallengesand so TL III marked its presence on four social media\r\nplatforms: Facebook (500 followers), Twitter (230 followers),\r\nSlide-share (8,242 views), and Flickr (396 photos) and\r\nregularly uses them as a vehicle to reachfarmers and interested\r\nstakeholders.Technologies and varieties developed under TL III\r\nhave been an eye opener for many in the agriculture sector, and\r\nsmall-holder farming in particular. Over the period of one year\r\nof the project phase III implementation, these four different\r\nplatforms have shown different level of engagements, information\r\ndissemination and reach, which will be highlighted and\r\ndiscussed."^^xsd:string;
