Thirty three delegates from 11 countries in southern and eastern Africa (including South Africa), and from ICRISAT and the Southern African Centre for Cooperation in Agriculture and Natural Resources Research and Training (SACCAR), participated in this Workshop. Recent research on groundnut was reviewed, through presentations that discussed the role of four broad disciplines—genetic enhancement, crop protection, agronomy, and technology transfer—in sustainable groundnut production. The Workshop recommendations are summarized; priority areas include characterization of drought-prone environments, establishment of drought nurseries, surveys on pests, diseases, and aflatoxin contamination, on-farm trials, and more effective technology transfer. date: 1994 publisher: International Crops Research Institute for the Semi-Arid Tropics pages: 168 refereed: FALSE isbn: 929066309X related_url_url: http://scholar.google.co.in/scholar?as_q=Sustainable+Groundnut+Production+in+Southern+and+Eastern+Africa+Proceedings+of+a+Workshop+5-7+Jul+1994+Mbabane%2C+Swaziland&num=10&btnG=Search+Scholar&as_epq=&as_oq=&as_eq=&as_occt=title&as_sauthors=&as_publication related_url_type: author citation: Ndunguru, B J and Hildebrand, G L and Subrahmanyam, P (1994) Sustainable Groundnut Production in Southern and Eastern Africa Proceedings of a Workshop 5-7 Jul 1994 Mbabane, Swaziland.
