Abstract
Sixty four groundnut genotypes collected from different sources and evaluated during late rainy season. The plant data recorded on fourteen characters were subjected to multivariant analysis to study the variability within the genotypes and to determine the efficiency of the methods in classifying genotypes. The first three axes both of factor analysis and principal component analyses (PCA) captures 59.52 % of the total variability and jointly identified final pod yield per plant, kernel yield per plant and soil yield per plant as characters contributing most to total variation.
