    The International Crops Research Institute for the Semi-Arid Tropics(ICRISAT) was created by the Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research (CGIAR) in 1972 on the recommendation of its Technical Advisory Committes. It was first new research center established by this informal association of governments and foundations brought together in 1971 by the World Bank, FAO, and UNDP to increase food supplies in developing countries....
