Abstract
Close examination of the root systems of 30-35 day old seedlings of pigeon pea revealed the presence of pearl-like white bodies attached to the roots. These are identified as H. cajani females. The identification of pearly root is useful in the diagnosis of H. cajani infestation of pigeonpea at the vegetative stage.
