Abstract
The workshop was held to discuss and refine a common research methodology to be used by all ICAR, ACIAR and ICRISAT scientists involved in the collaborative research on water use efficiency (WUE) in groundnut (Arachis hypogaea) and grain legumes. The 14 papers presented at the workshop are grouped into 3 main sections covering: WUE and drought (2 papers); drought patterns and drought research activities at collaborating institutions in India (7 papers); and carbon isotope discrimination as an indicator of WUE (5 papers). A technical work plan for multi-location studies on WUE in groundnut is presented as an appendix
