Abstract

In most of the South and Southeast Asia, and in much of the SubSahara Africa, agriculture is dominated by smallholders, who derive their livelihood s by cultivating small pieces of land and supplementing their incomes with dairy, poultry or fish farming. And, the number of such small-sized holdings has been steadily increasing under the growing population pressure.
