Abstract
Cajanus cajan cv. ICPL87119, derived from a cross between C11 and a breeding line, is a medium duration variety with resistance to Fusarium wilt and pigeonpea sterility mosaic virus. In trials in 1989/90 and 1991/92, it outyielded C11 by 20%, producing 1.51 and 1.54 t/ha in the central and southern zones of India, respectively. The seeds are brown and oval, with a 100-seed weight of 10.2-11.2 g. In a disease screening nursery, it showed a 2% incidence of Fusarium wilt and a 2% incidence of sterility mosaic, and it shows resistance to both diseases under endemic infection in the field.
