Abstract
Biotechnology is the appl icat ion of biological methods or processes to produce useful products. The ancient Egypt ians were credi ted wi t h the invent ion of ferment ing beer by using yeast. Indians have been making curds by using biologi cal cul tures for centur ies. Several convent ional biotechnology processes and approaches are in use in India.
