Abstract

An open carpel mutant, identified in the pigeonpea (Cajanus cajan (L.) Millsp.) cultivar ICPL 24 was found to have a genetically controlled developmental defect Inheritance studies in the F1, F2, and BC1 generations indicated that this abnormality was due to a single recessive gene mutation. The symbol cd1 is proposed for the gene.
