Abstract

The polyhedrosis virus of Spodoptera litura (F.) was found in studies in India to agglutinate 0.25, 0.25 and 0.5% of the erythrocytes of chickens, guineapigs and monkeys, respectively, but did not cause agglutination of bovine or sheep erythrocytes. Incubation temperature and duration of the storage period of the virus had no effect on the haemagglutinating property of the virus.
