Abstract
ICCV6 (= ICCX7385-15-1-1H1P-BP; ICCC32) was derived by pedigree selection from the cross L550 (ICC4973) X L2 (ICC4965) made in 1973-74; single plant selection was performed in the F2-F6. ICCV6 is semierect, is of moderate height and has mainly basal branching; it flowers 60-70 day after sowing in central India and in 75-85 days in northern India, and matures in 130-170 days. ICCV6 combines high yield (average 2.04 t/ha) with resistance to Fusarium oxysporum [f.sp. ciceri] races 1 and 4, tolerance of root rots, Heliothis and soil salinity and a high nodulation capacity. It is suited to irrigated and rainfed conditions, and is adapted to late sowing. ICCV produces salmon-white seeds with a 100-seed weight of 20 g (range 18-22) and a mean protein content of 21.3%.
