Abstract
In this review information is presented on techniques for screening Pennisetum typhoides for resistance to Sclerospora graminicola and Claviceps microcephala and on lines of this crop showing resistance to both fungi. When resistant IP1246 and IP2287 were crossed to susceptible K560 resistance to S. graminicola appeared to be controlled by two dominant genes. ADDITIONAL ABSTRACT: The diseases [of Pennisetum typhoides], caused by Sclerospora graminicola and Claviceps microcephala respectively, are reviewed
