Abstract

Seedlings of 2 accessions (ICPW61 and ICPW66) of Cajanus platycarpus, a wild relative of pigeonpea, were screened for resistance to blight caused by Phytophthora drechsleri f.sp. cajani. Mortality in these lines was less than 10%, compared to 100% mortality in the susceptible control ICP7119. The 2 lines were resistant to blight isolates P2 and P3 in both drenching and spray inoculation methods.
