Abstract

Traditionally, chickpea is not cultivated in Sri Lanka and its entire demand (9700 t annually) is met through imports. Following a brief review of some of the limited studies performed on chickpea in Sri Lanka, the prospects and potential for chickpea cultivation are considered.
