Abstract
Adwarf, compact mutant plant (designated PLM) of cv. OG66-6-1 is described which has partially crinkled (puckered) leaves with yellow stripes along the margins. Data on leaf phenotype from parental, F1, F2 and backcross generations of 2 reciprocal crosses of PLM with the normal leaved cultivars J11 and MK374 indicated that the normal leaf phenotype is controlled by 2 pairs of genes, Nl1 and Nl2. Expression of the mutant leaf phenotype is dependent on the presence of the Nl1 gene in a recessive, homozygous condition and the Nl2 gene in a dominant homozygous or heterozygous condition.
