Abstract

A spontaneous mutant with upright pedicels that carried the pods above the canopy during their development was found in the variety L550. The mutant, L550PM, was crossed with the normal varieties Annigeri and K850. A study of the F1, F2 and F3 showed that the mutation is due to a single recessive gene.
